Im Unterschied dazu handelt es sich bei der MS-Schubtherapie um eine <strong>kurzfristige Akut-Behandlung, die meist \u00fcber drei bis f\u00fcnf Tage erfolgt<\/strong>. Ihr Ziel ist es, einen MS-Schub zum Abklingen zu bringen.<\/p>\n<p>Ein akuter MS-Schub kann sich durch Beschwerden wie Kribbeln, Taubheitsgef\u00fchle, Sehst\u00f6rungen oder L\u00e4hmungen bemerkbar machen. Dahinter steckt ein verst\u00e4rktes Entz\u00fcndungsgeschehen im zentralen Nervensystem. Allerdings k\u00f6nnen pl\u00f6tzlich auftretende Beschwerden im Rahmen einer MS-Erkrankung auch andere Ursachen haben. Wichtig ist es daher, m\u00f6glichst rasch \u00e4rztlichen Rat einzuholen. In der Regel erfolgt die Gabe \u00fcber eine Infusion f\u00fcr die Dauer von drei bis f\u00fcnf Tagen hinweg. Alternativ steht der Wirkstoff auch in Tablettenform zur Verf\u00fcgung. Wichtig ist es, m\u00f6glichst schnell nach Auftreten der Beschwerden mit der Therapie zu beginnen.<\/p>\n<p>Nach sp\u00e4testens f\u00fcnf Tagen ist die Behandlung normalerweise beendet und die Symptome klingen ab. Falls jedoch weiterhin Beschwerden bestehen, kann die <strong>Schubtherapie durch eine Wiederholung der Kortison-Infusionen eskaliert werden. In solchen F\u00e4llen kann eine sogenannte Apherese (umgangssprachlich Blutw\u00e4sche) durchgef\u00fchrt werden. Bei dieser Behandlung wird Blut entnommen, von sch\u00e4dlichen Stoffen gereinigt und anschlie\u00dfend wieder zur\u00fcck in den K\u00f6rper geleitet. Die Blutw\u00e4sche kann auch dann sinnvoll sein, wenn Patient:innen die Sto\u00dftherapie mit Kortison in der Vergangenheit nicht gut vertragen haben. Verschiedenen Studien zufolge sprechen rund 60 bis 80 Prozent derer, bei denen die Sto\u00dftherapie mit Kortison nicht zum gew\u00fcnschten Erfolg gef\u00fchrt hat, gut auf eine Blutw\u00e4sche an.<\/p>\n<p>Bei der Blutw\u00e4sche kommen zwei Verfahren zum Einsatz:<\/p>\n<\/div><ul class=\"fusion-checklist fusion-checklist-2\" style=\"font-size:16px;line-height:27.2px;\"><li class=\"fusion-li-item\"><span style=\"height:27.2px;width:27.2px;margin-right:11.2px;\" class=\"icon-wrapper circle-no\"><i class=\"fusion-li-icon fa-angle-right fas\" style=\"color:#eae43d;\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><div class=\"fusion-li-item-content\" style=\"margin-left:38.4px;\">\n<p><strong>Plasmapherese (Plasmaaustausch):<\/strong> Dabei wird dem Patienten bzw. der Patientin \u00fcber einen peripheren oder zentralnerv\u00f6sen Zugang (Hals- oder Armvene) kontinuierlich Blut entnommen. Anschlie\u00dfend wird mithilfe eines Membranplasmaseparators oder einer Zentrifuge das Blutplasma von den Blutzellen getrennt. Das abgetrennte Plasma wird dann verworfen und durch fremdes Plasma oder humanes Albumin ersetzt.
