Faktoren.<\/li>\n<li>Symptome und Krankheitsverlauf sind individuell sehr unterschiedlich, weswegen die Multiple Sklerose auch als \u201cKrankheit der 1.000 Gesichter&#8220; bezeichnet <strong>chronisch-entz\u00fcndliche Erkrankung des zentralen Nervensystems<\/strong>. Bei MS wird die Myelinschicht an unterschiedlichen Stellen im Gehirn und R\u00fcckenmark angegriffen und teilweise auch zerst\u00f6rt. Die meisten Nervenfasern sind, \u00e4hnlich wie Kabel elektrischer Leitungen, von einer Isolierschicht umgeben, dem Myelin. Myelin bezeichnet eine spezielle Biomembran, die besonders lipidreich ist. Als sogenannte Myelin- oder Markscheide umschlie\u00dft es die innerhalb der Axone (Fortsatz einer Nervenzelle verlaufenden Nervenfasern und isoliert diese gegen\u00fcber anderen Nerven. Signale k\u00f6nnen so schneller von Zelle zu Zelle weitergegeben werden. Bei MS verwechselt unser Immunsystem die Myelinschicht mit gef\u00e4hrlichen Eindringlingen und greift diese an. In der Folge entstehen Entz\u00fcndungen, die die <strong>Myelinschicht besch\u00e4digen und stellenweise ganz zerst\u00f6ren<\/strong>. Die Nerven verlieren ihren Schutz und k\u00f6nnen ihrerseits selbst Schaden nehmen. Zudem ist die Reizweiterleitung gest\u00f6rt. Vermutet wird ein Zusammenspiel an verschiedenen Ursachen. Wissenschaftler:innen nehmen an, dass mehrere Bedingungen zusammentreffen m\u00fcssen, um die MS zu verursachen (multifaktorielle Entstehung). Die genaue Verkettung dieser Faktoren ist bislang nicht hinreichend bekannt.<\/p>\n<p>Welche Faktoren erh\u00f6hen das Risiko f\u00fcr MS?<\/p>\n<\/div><ul class=\"fusion-checklist fusion-checklist-1\" style=\"font-size:16px;line-height:27.2px;\"><li class=\"fusion-li-item\"><span style=\"height:27.2px;width:27.2px;margin-right:11.2px;\" class=\"icon-wrapper circle-no\"><i class=\"fusion-li-icon fa-angle-right fas\" style=\"color:#eae43d;\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><div class=\"fusion-li-item-content\" style=\"margin-left:38.4px;\">\n<p><strong>Erbliche Faktoren (Gene):<\/strong> Multiple Sklerose gilt nicht als klassische Erbkrankheit. Daher ist das famili\u00e4re Risiko bei einem betroffenen Elternteil selbst daran zu erkranken nur geringf\u00fcgig erh\u00f6ht. Eltern mit MS k\u00f6nnen die Krankheit also nicht vererben, ihren Kindern aber dennoch die Neigung f\u00fcr diese Nervenerkrankung mitgeben. Zudem haben die meisten<a href=\"https:\/\/www.apo.com\/magazin\/multiple-sklerose\/ursachen\/multiple-sklerose-genetische-komponenten-und-umwelteinfluesse\"> genetischen Risikofaktoren<\/a>, die mit MS in Verbindung gebracht wurden, eines gemeinsam: sie sind Gene im Immunsystem.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li class=\"fusion-li-item\"><span style=\"height:27.2px;width:27.2px;margin-right:11.2px;\" class=\"icon-wrapper circle-no\"><i class=\"fusion-li-icon fa-angle-right fas\" style=\"color:#eae43d;\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><div class=\"fusion-li-item-content\" style=\"margin-left:38.4px;\">\n<p><strong>Virusinfektionen:<\/strong> etwa mit Masern- und Herpes-Viren oder dem <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apo.com\/magazin\/multiple-sklerose\/ursachen\/epstein-barr-virus\">Epstein-Barr-Virus (EBV)<\/a>. Insbesondere das EBV steht im Verdacht, an der Entstehung von MS wesentlich beteiligt zu sein.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li class=\"fusion-li-item\"><span style=\"height:27.2px;width:27.2px;margin-right:11.2px;\" class=\"icon-wrapper circle-no\"><i class=\"fusion-li-icon fa-angle-right fas\" style=\"color:#eae43d;\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><div class=\"fusion-li-item-content\" style=\"margin-left:38.4px;\">\n<p><strong>Vitamin-D-Mangel:<\/strong> Mithilfe von Sonnenstrahlung bildet unser K\u00f6rper Vitamin D (D3). Eine Verlaufs-Prognose ist daher nur bedingt und vorbehaltlich m\u00f6glich.<\/p>\n<p>Trotz des individuellen Krankheitsverlaufes sprechen Mediziner:innen von drei MS-Verlaufsformen: RRMS, SPMS und PPMS.<\/p>\n<\/div><ul class=\"fusion-checklist fusion-checklist-2\" style=\"font-size:16px;line-height:27.2px;\"><li class=\"fusion-li-item\"><span style=\"height:27.2px;width:27.2px;margin-right:11.2px;\" class=\"icon-wrapper circle-no\"><i class=\"fusion-li-icon fa-angle-right fas\" style=\"color:#eae43d;\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><div class=\"fusion-li-item-content\" style=\"margin-left:38.4px;\">\n<p>Bei \u00fcber 85 bis 90 % der Menschen mit MS beginnt die Erkrankung mit einem schubf\u00f6rmig remittierenden Verlauf (<strong>RRMS<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>Bei dieser Form der MS k\u00f6nnen sich die schubbedingten Symptome der einzelnen, klar voneinander abgrenzbaren Sch\u00fcbe vollst\u00e4ndig oder teilweise zur\u00fcckbilden \u2013 d. h. sie remittieren.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li class=\"fusion-li-item\"><span style=\"height:27.2px;width:27.2px;margin-right:11.2px;\" class=\"icon-wrapper circle-no\"><i class=\"fusion-li-icon fa-angle-right fas\" style=\"color:#eae43d;\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><div class=\"fusion-li-item-content\" style=\"margin-left:38.4px;\">\n<p>Nach etwa 10 bis 15 Jahren kann die RRMS in die sogenannte <strong>sekund\u00e4r progrediente Form (SPMS)<\/strong> \u00fcbergehen, was bei etwa 30 bis 40 % bei Menschen mit MS der Fall ist.\u00a0Dabei nehmen die Beschwerden kontinuierlich zu (= progredient) und das Auftreten einzelner Sch\u00fcbe wird seltener. Auch kann die SPMS v\u00f6llig schubfrei verlaufen. Gekennzeichnet ist die SPMS dadurch, dass die Krankheitsverschlechterung langsam fortschreitet und oft nicht gleich bemerkt wird.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li class=\"fusion-li-item\"><span style=\"height:27.2px;width:27.2px;margin-right:11.2px;\" class=\"icon-wrapper circle-no\"><i class=\"fusion-li-icon fa-angle-right fas\" style=\"color:#eae43d;\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><div class=\"fusion-li-item-content\" style=\"margin-left:38.4px;\">\n<p>Die seltenste Verlaufsform der MS ist die <strong>prim\u00e4r progrediente MS (PPMS)<\/strong>. Hiervon betroffen sind etwa 10 % bis 15 % aller MS-Patienten:innen. Die Symptome verschlimmern sich bei dieser Form bereits von Beginn an kontinuierlich (prim\u00e4r). Einzelne Sch\u00fcbe lassen sich meist nicht erkennen und bleibende Beeintr\u00e4chtigungen nehmen stetig zu.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><\/ul><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-18\"><p>Werden erste MS typische Ver\u00e4nderungen im MRT festgestellt, die jedoch die Diagnosekriterien der Multiplen Sklerose nicht erf\u00fcllen, so sprechen Mediziner:innern vom sogenannten klinisch isolierten Syndrom (KIS).
